is the future of data transfer. In order to achieve a higher transfer rate, data is not transferred in
parallel anymore but serially. A point-to-point connection with up to 4 Gbytes/s can be realized.
This new bus standard among other things is a special feature of MEN’s Intel
®
-based product family. The I/O
functionality of the intercompatible single-board computers (from Celeron
®
M, 1 GHz up to the newest Core
TM
2
Duo, 2.2 GHz) can be extended via different side cards. One of these, the F602, has a special function. Combined
with this side card and a hybrid backplane the CompactPCI
®
system slot boards F14, F15, F17 or F18 can be
turned into system slot boards for CompactPCI
®
Express. Thus mixed CompactPCI
®
/CompactPCI
®
Express systems
can be built up.
